Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names, dates of birth, or case numbers typed into a search box on this site travel to the outside company that runs that tool. The partner processes the query and sends back results. Our own systems do not keep a copy of those terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you write to us, we retain the message so we can answer it. It stays with our small team, and we do not hand it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal requirement forces us to.
Data We Gather Automatically
A visit to this site produces routine technical information that we record:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser and its version
- The type of device and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The referring site, when there is one
- Page view times
Cookies and Analytics
This site sets cookies, which are small files your device stores. They help us see which pages draw traffic and where visitors stop reading. Analytics providers help us total that information up. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though blocking them may change how parts of the site behave.
What We Do With This Data
We use visitor information for a narrow set of purposes:
- Keeping the site online and running
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may fit your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, or sell any database of warrants or personal record information. What we publish is guidance about where Washington Parish warrant records sit and how to ask for them through the Clerk of Court, the Sheriff's Office, Bogalusa City Court, the Mayor's Courts, and the ward courts. Louisiana law matters here: the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 through 44:37, covers what a public body must release, and La. R.S. 44:31 gives adults the right to inspect and copy public records while placing the burden of proving an exemption on the custodian. Some material stays protected, and juvenile records are confidential under La. Children's Code art. 412. None of that law makes this site the custodian of anything. We are also not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is turned into a consumer report about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Whatever you type into one is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those companies decide how long they keep data and who else sees it, and we have no say in either decision. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
Our pages link out to sheriff's office pages, court sites, the Clerk of Court, state directories, legal aid groups, and commercial search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies. Read it before you share personal details with anyone.
Advertising partners may also track activity across websites in order to target ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may reach:
- Search partners handling a query you submitted here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks placing advertisements on our pages
- Law enforcement or a government body where a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We apply standard security practices to the information we collect. No internet-connected service is completely safe, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Louisiana has not enacted a general consumer privacy statute that gives residents a fixed set of data rights, and the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 through 44:37, governs records held by public bodies rather than records held by a private website like this one. Even so, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your data
- Stop certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. Any revision appears on this page together with a new effective date, so check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
